41 MILE BORE BARKLY HWY NT

  The second stopover before the 3 Ways Roadhouse, 41 Mile Bore, was a place that I visited last year on the trip "Down the Centre". It is about 2 months earlier in the year this time and what a difference. Instead of a desolate scene with dry tussock grasses, sad looking trees, no birds, millions of flies and wild cats prowling at night, we were treated to a much greener and healthier looking environment with flowering plants and shrubs here and there from which tiny finches darted to and fro and the  now commonly sited pint-sized pigeons pecked their way through the undergrowth. Even the flies were bearable.
