SADDLE CREEK NT

Our next stop was the last that we will make in NT before crossing the border into WA. Another great dive with rocky escarpments on both sides of the Victoria Hwy led to Saddle creek free camp about 110 kms east of Kununurra and 80 kms from the border. Boy, this place is popular. We were lucky to get in with Marj in the lead managing to score one of the few spaces left that could accommodate the 3 motorhomes nose to tail. As the afternoon wore on even more arrived until not one more rig could be fit. Anyway, even with the crowd, that eventually dispersed early next morning in any case, Saddle Creek had its good points. Like the view of the rocky ridges that surrounded the area and that shone brightly in the afternoon setting sun. It was nice enough for a two day lay-by.
