MERBEIN COMMON Vic

  For those that are near Mildura Vic and don't want to stay at a Caravan Park then a short 14 km trip to the free camp at Merbein Common is worth a look. Another decent sized area with secluded bush camping right beside the Murray River can be found about 2 klms from the village of Merbein. A word of warning though, there are 2 ways in, the Racecourse Road entrance is a very rough track, unsuitable for Caravans or large Motorhomes and I would guess impassable if wet. Fortunately there is another way in via the Winery entrance on a reasonable gravel road. I spent a couple of quiet days here .
