WW2 AIRSTRIP via Mt ISA

Sturt's Desert Rose - Gossypium Sturtianun
It is around 200 kms from Mt Isa to Camooweal and as it was late morning when we left the others at the Caravan Park, we decided to spend the night at a the WW2 Airstrip rest stop, of which I was familiar, 50 kms to the west of Mt Isa. There is not  much to enthuse however, we were treated to a brilliant Moonrise and I was excited to see my first Sturt's Desert Rose flower (Glossypium. Sturtianum). It was much drier and hotter last year and the flies were much worse than on this visit thank goodness.
